The 2023 Block 02 Sangiovese reflects a cooler Beechworth season, showing a more restrained, finely detailed profile. Medium-bodied, it leans toward redder fruits, sour cherry, cranberry and subtle wild strawberry, with a gentle lift of dried herbs and a faint earthy savouriness.

The tannins are fine and quietly structural rather than plush, giving shape without weight, while a bright line of acidity carries the wine long and precise. There’s a sense of tension and clarity here, favouring nuance over density.

Composed and quietly complex, the 2023 will reward time in the cellar, building further detail and harmony with age.
