The season leading up to the 2025 vintage was, dryer than the previous two which preceded it. The winter of 2025 was cool, but not cold - which didn’t allow many frosts to occur. Early spring bought more rain, with budburst occurring later than normal, but earlier than in 2024. The 2025 wines are all excellent in quality. High natural acidities and high colour in reds. The cool summer conditions were optimum for flavour and colour development.

This wine was made from two clones (114 and MV6) and comprises a whole bunch component, which was fermented separately using maceration carbonique.

Each component was matured separately in new (40%) and seasoned Italian coopered French oak 500 litre puncheons prior to blending and bottling in January 2026.

Composed, harmonious and already boasting a pure, elemental pinot quality and energy when tasted before release, this '25 pinot is set to impress. Quality fruit lies at its heart, a complex cherry and plum concentration surrounded by baking spices, sappy undergrowth, dusty earthiness and violet florals. Comes with a fleshy impact, framed in fine tannins and a bright acidity."
