A deep red/purple wine, with a subdued bouquet that has earthy, spicy, charred-timber traces. The wine is full-bodied, soft and rich on the tongue and with savouriness and abundant soft tannins. The palate structure demonstrates the varietal difference between Tempranillo and other red varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot.

Firm, fine grained powdery tannins coat the mouth, with rich black fruits. As a 3+ year old wine, it demonstrates many of the characteristics seen in the Tempranillo wines of Spains Rioja Alta and Ribera del Duero. A nicely harmonised wine, balanced and approachable now, although there is a touch of firmness in the tannins at its core, so plenty of time to cellar also.

The nose is perfumed, with notes of wild blackberries, tobacco leaves and cedar. The palate is full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and acidity, giving notes of mulberries, mocha and spices. Very well balanced and giving. Drink or hold."
