Deep in colour, this Cabernet Sauvignon reflects its cool climate roots; with cassis, dried tobacco and redcurrant on the nose. Fine grained tannins give great length to the palate which is rich and flavoursome; mid palate weight provided by the Carmenere and fragrance and length provided by Petit Verdot.

Wine review

Very good, mid-weighted cabernet, taut and unyielding at present, but with no absence of red fruits suggestive of the clutch of complexity that lays beyond first gear. Nicely appointed oak framework, judicious and subtly vanillin. This bodes well. Drinkable now, but best from 2027. Screw cap - 93 points."

Beechworth cabernet sauvignon, really? You bet! The producer shows a lot of love towards the grape. Ripe fruit is key here; it shines in black plum, blackberry, anise spice, violet, leaf and sweet vanillin oak. Rolls out in elegant fashion, smooth and supple tannined, but firmly so. A mouth-filling finish makes it good to go now - 92 points."
